Are the fixings supplied with this door knocker?

Yes, we provide two bolts and nuts with this door knocker that can be used to fix it your door. The bolts are not visible once fitted, however, the bolt nut will be visible on the inside of your door. The nut is finished in nickel to match the nickel dragonfly finish.

Will this nickel door knocker age over time?

This door knocker is manufactured from solid brass and then plated in nickel, providing the door knocker with a corrosion-resistant and long-lasting shiny finish. To maintain this highly polished finish, we recommend cleaning with hot soapy water every 3-6 months. If not cleaned, the door knocker will lose its shine over time.

Is this door knocker suitable for a UPVC or composite door?

Yes, our dragonfly door knocker can be fitted to composite UPVC doors as well as wooden doors. However, we recommend that you check with the door manufacturer as fitting a door knocker may void the warranty.

Can I replace my existing door knocker with this design?

Yes you can! All door knockers can be removed from a door, simply unscrew or unbolt to remove. Depending upon your door material, you'll then need to fill in the holes with a suitable filler. Once filled, simply fit your new dragonfly door knocker and ensure the new holes aren't too close to the old holes.
