The original bee door knocker is now available in Black Cast Iron! This beautiful black bee is crafted from cast iron using traditional techniques from a local foundry. Its charming bumble bee shape features a black powder coat paint finish, alongside intricate etched details across the small wings and bee body. The wings of the bee are attached to the striking plate, whilst the body of the bee is lifted to create a solid knock!

Yes, we provide two screws with the bee door knocker that can be used to fix it to your door. The slotted head screws provided match the black finish of the bee door knocker and are not visible once fitted to your door.

Will this black door knocker age over time?

This door knocker is manufactured from solid cast iron and then powder coated in a matte black finish, providing the door knocker with a corrosion-resistant and long-lasting finish. To maintain the black finish, we recommend cleaning and oiling the hinge of the door knocker with WD40 on a regular basis.

Is this door knocker suitable for a UPVC or composite door?

Yes, our black bee door knocker can be fitted to composite UPVC doors as well as wooden doors. However, we recommend that you check with the door manufacturer as fitting a door knocker may void the warranty.

Can I replace my existing door knocker with this design?

Yes you can! All door knockers can be removed from a door, simply unscrew or unbolt to remove. Depending upon your door material, you'll then need to fill in the holes with a suitable filler. Once filled, simply fit your new bee door knocker and ensure the new holes aren't too close to the old holes.
